As I was going to St. Ives,
I met a man with seven wives,
Every wife had seven sacks.
Every sack had seven cats.
Every cat had seven kitts
Kitts, cats, sacks, wives:
How many were going to St. Ives?

Three blind mice.
Three blind mice.
See how they run! See how they run!
They all ran after the farmer's wife,
Who cut off their tails with a carving knife.
Did you ever see such a fright in your life
As three blind mice?

Hi said the chickadee sitting on a chair,
Once I courted a lady fair,
She knew how to glide and sway,
Ever since then, I dressed in gray.
Tow di...
Hi said the purple finch sitting on a chair,
Once I courted a lady fair.
She was timid and pranced on toes,
Ever since then, I dressed in rose.
Tow di...
Hi said the little wren sitting on a chair, once I sang a song so loud!
She sang out with strut and sound, ever since then, I dressed in brown!
Tow di...
Hi said the woodpecker sitting on a chair.
Once I found a tree so strong.
He'd work, peck and then he'd press,
Ever since then, I dressed a mess!
Tow di...
Hi said all the birds, sitting on a chair.
Once we flew round ladies fair!
They sway, prance, sing high and low,
When we dance, we wear rainbow!
Tow di...

Hello Everyone – My Name Is Jazz J-A-Z-Z Jazz
Clap your hands with me
I’m more than 100 years old and I still feel very fresh and bold
I was born in New Orleans
Dixieland, Ragtime, Swing and Bop
By the Duke, Bird, Diz and Pop
I travelled around the world and I love to jam
Yes, I love to jam with everyone, black, white or tan
And most of all – I love to improvise
Yes, improvise, make things up
In fact everyone loves to improvise – you do too –
We’ll improvise for you and then it’s your turn
Are you ready?
Here is the saxophone
Listen to the piano
Here is the bass
And now the drums
And the voice
Now let’s all improvise clapping our hands, I’ll do one, then it’s your turn
Listen – Your Turn
Listen – Your Turn
Listen – Your Turn
Listen to my feet – Your Turn
Listen to some slapping) – Your Turn
I’ll mix it up – Use any sound you’d like
My name is jazz – J-A-Z-Z say it with me
J-A-Z-Z , one more time – J-A-Z-Z
And don’t forget to improvise
My name is jazz and I love to make things up – oh yeah!

The cat and the mouse live in the same house.
They don't always get along.
The cats chase and bully the mice so the mice invite the cats to dinner.
They serve the cats a lot to eat and drink.
The cats eat so much, they get tired.
The cats fall asleep.
"Presto!" The mice make the cats' tails disappear while they are asleep.
From that point on, the cats treat the mice kindly.
This is why cats hide their tails when they are scared.
